A Home for All — Together in the Highlands
Award-Winning Accommodation and Facilities for the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force & Veterans in the Cairngorms, founded by Tony Brown, a Boy, a Cadet, a Soldier, a Veteran.
Our Mission
We are proud to run Forces Manor as a not-for-profit organisation, with all proceeds reinvested into improving our facilities and services. Our aim is simple:
• To provide award-winning facilities all year round.
• To create a space where comradeship and connection thrive.
• To support the welfare of every guest by offering a home-from-home environment that is both welcoming and restorative.
In our very first tow year, we were honoured to receive a number of national recognitions:
• Finalist — Scottish Veterans Awards
• Bronze Award — Scottish Veterans Awards
• Bronze Accreditation — Armed Forces Covenant
What Makes Us Different
At Forces Manor, there are no labels. Every guest is part of the community we’re building here in the Highlands. With our Veterans’ Lounge, Military Library, self-service kitchen, and outdoor pursuits, we invite you not just to stay, but to belong.
We encourage guests to take ownership during their time here — whether that means sharing stories, exploring the glens with comrades, or simply finding peace in the quiet of the mountains.
Because Forces Manor is more than a place to rest — it’s a place to reconnect, to recover, and to remember that we’re always stronger together.
How We Operate
We run on a self-service model, designed to offer privacy, flexibility and independence.
There’s no check-in desk. No maids knocking on doors. No rules — just respect.
We believe that by trusting our guests, we foster a sense of ownership, mutual care, and dignity — the very things that built the military community in the first place.
The Manor is shaped by the experiences of those who use it.
Our guests include:
You don’t need a uniform to belong here.
But if you’ve worn one, we get it. And we’ve got you.
Forces Manor was born from lived experience — from knowing what it means to need a break, and what it feels like to belong. We’ve built Forces Manor to be more than just beds and buildings. It’s a pause button. A healing space. A quiet moment between storms.” Tony – Founder & Director
